The If, Then Life

Are you waiting?  If this happens, then I will do this...  Are you living and if, then life?  I used to live this life.  I kept waiting for the next turn, the next big moment to make changes.  Honestly, I was waiting to live my life.  I though I would be happy if...  I will make a career change if...  I will start this new venture if...  My life was a series of ifs and the thens never happened.  This was my norm.  I thought this was how everyone lived.  I was so wrong and so unfulfilled.

I found myself researching by watching others lives, not in a jealousy sort of way, but a curiosity sort of way.  How were they living?  I looked at people who I wanted my life to be a bit more like theirs than my current situation was.  What were they doing different?  They were living.  I mean really living.  They were present in the moment, living their best life.  They were challenging themselves to the next level, pushing themselves to reach new heights.

I was over-working myself and undervaluing myself.  I just thought if I kept doing what I was doing it would all work out, but I was stuck in a routine that was not healthy.  Routines can be a great thing, but I was recently reminded we can have bad routines that keep us stuck where we are.  Reminder, don't get so stuck in your routine that you miss out on the opportunities around you.

Don't get stuck in the if, then life cycle.  Stop waiting to live.  Stop thinking that you need to have everything happen in a certain order.  Go for your dreams.  Live your life.  Take the trip.  Go hiking.  Meet new people.  Step outside of your comfort zone.  Live a life of freedom.  If you don't know what that looks like, ask for some guidance.  Reach out if you want to stop living the if, then life.
