Sometimes it's all about the cup you use...
Perspective. It's not what is in the cup. It's not how full the cup is. It is about how you see that cup. Take a journey in my brain this morning. I am hard at work training clients, answering emails, working on marketing, and I took a gander at the cup I am using today. In artistic lettering is reads, "You're the best." It's simple and to the point. No pretty pictures. No bright colors. Simple and artistic. My cup got me thinking about perspective.
Life, love, careers are a lot about how we see them. We don't always get to to know the other side of things. We can tell ourselves stories about what is going on and why, but they are just that, stories. It is how we look at it. I decided this morning to put my healthy beverage of choice into my mug instead of a shaker cup per usual. I did it without thinking which caused a lot of thought. Every time I look at my cup, I smile. Every time I look at my cup, I think to myself "You've got this!" I am choosing to look at my day as good. I am seeing what is inside my cup through joy filled eyes.
Sometimes we need to change our perspective and look at things in a new and different way than we have been. Our old view may have served us well for a season or a reason, but now it is time to change that view. It no longer serves us and may even be hindering us. Is there a situation or relationship in your life that you need to put in a different package and look at in a new way? I want you to really think about this one. Is there something keeping you stuck? It may be time to buy a new cup to help remind yourself to look at things in a new light.
