I love when a plan comes together...
I am almost two weeks into this journey from where I started. I can tell you that I feel like a better version of myself already (I have a long ways to go yet, but I am headed in the right direction). I quit drinking energy drinks!! I was drinking 1-2 a day. So not good for me, but I hadn't been taking care of myself and was so tired all the time. I was relying on them just to get through the day. Living a healthier lifestyle means making the changes we need to be that better version of ourself. It was tough giving up the energy drinks, but I feel so much better without them!
I have started training with 1 of my two trainers. I will be working with Trainer Mark and Trainer Troy at Fitness Evolution. Mark has now trained me 3 times. Let me tell you that those workouts pushed me. They were everything I needed! The 3 of us are planning out my journey and my workouts.
In hitting that reset button I knew that I need to know where I am going and how I am going to get there. I know some things will not necessarily go the way I picture them in my head or how my trainers and I plan them out, but I do need to at least put a plan together. It is important to know what I want to achieve over the course of this journey. Part of this journey is to reach or work towards my goals, realistic goals. It wouldn't work so well for me to say that I want to win the lottery as a goal, most likely never going to happen.
I had Trainer Ben take my measurements to know where I am starting. I needed to know my starting stats to be able to set realistic goals. It would be difficult for me to say that I would like to change my body's composition by any certain amount if I don't know where I currently am. While the measurements were definitely not where I would like them to be, they are just my starting point. In fact, I will say I was pretty hard on myself with my measurements. The numbers are definitely not what they used to be, but the great thing is that they are not going to stay my numbers either. They are something that I am going to look back at as something I have overcome. They will be in my rearview mirror, leaving them far behind!
I know what my goals are, and I definitely got a picture of my starting point. I will share more of my goals and progress as we continue. We are still working on the timeframes for some of the goals. I usually make a point of goal setting at the beginning of the year, but this year I did not. I made excuses and kept putting it off. No more excuses. If I am starting over and taking back my life, I need to stop making excuses and put in the effort. No one else is going to do it for me. It's kind of funny, but if we don't do it for ourselves, no one else is going to put in the effort either in our lives.

Taking that first big step of deciding what you want to and who
you want to be gets you moving in the right direction, but then what? You know what you want and the kind of person
you want or need to be to achieve your goals. So… now how do you get there? How do you achieve your goals? How do you grow as a person? It’s great to know what you want, but without
a plan, they are only dreams and wishes.
Do you want your dreams to stay just wishes or to be your goals that you
achieve? I know that is not what I want for myself. I want my dreams and wishes to become my reality which means turning them into achievable goals.
It’s time to set my goals and put together the plan to reach them. I took time last night to sit down with a notebook. On the first pages of my notebook, I wrote out a list of
goals that I want to achieve for the year.
I put everything down that came to mind whether it was a health/fitness goal, an emotional goal, personal or professional. For the purpose of this journey, I will mostly be sharing the health/fitness and emotional things as they tie in together.
I know ultimately where I would like to end up, but that is not going to happen in a few months. I need to break it down a bit to put that into a realistic amount for my first goal. Stay tuned as the journey continues.
