Dream Big. I Mean Really Big!
Dream Big! So authentic, right?! I want to tell you what can happen when you dream big. This may be a long one, sorry, not sorry. It's time I share what I have been up to the last year. I have not been extremely vocal about my dreams becoming my reality. I didn't really realize this until a recent conversation when a relative of mine had no idea of what has all happened over the course of the last 15 months. There are some pretty big things that have transpired. I think I was so caught up in all of it, a bit of a whirlwind that I didn't realize how quiet I was being, and if you know me, you know that is not normal, lol.
I had realized almost 2 years ago that I was not living out my purpose or my passion. Something needed to change, but I wasn't sure how to go about making the changes I needed to. I knew I missed helping people and working in the fitness industry, but I knew I couldn't go about it the way I had in the past. I looked at self contracting as a trainer again. It was in those discussions that an idea of really going after my dreams was born. A dear friend posed a question to me about why don't I go into business for myself... She told me I knew what I was doing, and it made sense for me to do it. That question was the beginning of many conversations and a lot of thinking and praying. I had always wanted my own place, but wow, could I really do it.
Well, on October 1, 2018, I became owner of not only one, but two gyms. I am now the very proud, excited and terrified owner of two Snap Fitness locations in Becker and Big Lake, MN. I say terrified because I am. It is supposed to be scary when you take that leap. I would be worried if I wasn't. I get to live my dreams everyday, connecting and helping others around me be the best version of themselves. I am beyond blessed to call my members my FitFamily!
I had come back to work in the gyms on October 1, 2017 with the intent of owning the gyms. It was a very long year of many ups and downs. There were moments when I almost walked away. Thankfully there were enough people supporting me on this journey that didn't let me quit. Going after your dreams is hard. I don't just mean hard, I mean excruciatingly difficult at times. There were times I cried, nights I couldn't sleep, set backs. There were days I felt that I took ten steps backwards. This journey taught me about grit and about how hard you have to work to live your dreams. As difficult as the days have been, I wouldn't trade it in for anything.
Anything we truly want in this life, we have to work for. I had to work for my 12 hour race, and I'm already working towards the next one. I set another goal to run a half marathon trail race. Hard work and grit are how we live our dreams. Sticking with it even on the tough days. I relied a lot on gratitude to make it through. I have so much to be thankful for.
No matter what your goals or dreams are, I challenge you to go Big! Dream big! If you push yourself, you will find out you have the grit to achieve everything you set you mind to. You just have to believe, plan, and work hard for it. I am always here to help you!!
With the New Year around the corner, many of us are reflecting and planning. I don't believe in resolutions, but I do believe in goal setting and planning. Take this time to put your plan together for the next year of life. It's time to make your dreams come true. It's time to start taking the steps needed to reach those goals! Tell yourself every single day that you've got this!!

This was an incredible read! Thank you so much for taking the time to share what the last 2 years have been like.
ReplyDeleteI am starting a new Journey myself into the unknown of social media to bring my passion to life through cooking and meal planning. It is yet way too early to discern whether or not it will be a source of financial income. I believe, as long as you are serving others, the financial rewards of doing what you love will always be met.
Cass, I was with you when you were working for others and saw you depart into the unknown world of what was to become. Your hard work and dedication is finally in front of everyone to see.
A huge high five is in the air for you right now to catch. Congratulations !!
I look forward to participating at your gym in Becker.
Much Love,
Michael
